Pittsburgh Logistics Systems, eflatbed.com Form Holding Company

Umbrella Will Provide Strategic Strength and Increased Logistics Capabilities

Pittsburgh, PA, August 9, 2000 - The Board of Directors of Pittsburgh Logistics Systems, Inc. (PLS) and eflatbed.com announced today that a holding company is being formed to drive the development of the logistics businesses of PLS and eflatbed.com as well as PLS International LP (PLSI) and InnerLink Strategic Solutions Inc, subsidiaries of PLS.

"This new structure allows us to capitalize on the strengths of each company, such as the logistics management knowledge of PLS, the technological logistics expertise of eflatbed.com, the international logistics background of PLSI, and the strategic communications ability of InnerLink," said Gregg Troian, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PLS and eflatbed.com. "Sharing these strengths will allow us to effectively manage more loads and deliver value-added logistics management services to our customers."

Pittsburgh Logistics Systems is the leading third-party logistics provider to the metals industry. Founded in 1991, PLS has been recognized for growth and innovation for the past three years by the Pittsburgh High Technology Council.

PLS International - an affiliate of PLS - was established in 1998 to serve the growing needs of the international logistics industry.

In March of this year, PLS launched a new and separate company, eflatbed.com, a sophisticated and powerful eCommerce company dedicated to serving the logistics needs of both carriers and shippers in the flatbed shipping industry throughout North America. eflatbed.com recently entered into strategic partnerships with Ferrous Exchange Inc and YardConnect.com.

InnerLink Strategic Solutions, a strategic communications consulting organization, was acquired by PLS in May of 2000. InnerLink is highly regarded for its expertise in translating complex subject matter into reader-friendly documents and manuals. InnerLink boasts clients across a wide spectrum of industries including cable communications, biomedical devices, and general aviation.

"Clearly each of these companies has developed a respected and prominent position in their respective fields," said Troian. "The new umbrella organization creates an open pathway to the expertise each company possesses which will allow us to best serve our customers and to become a global logistics leader."
