Pittsburgh Logistics Systems, eflatbed.com Announce New Customer

Umbrella Will Provide Strategic Strength and Increased Logistics Capabilities

Pittsburgh, PA, October 20, 2000 - Pittsburgh Logistics Systems, Inc. (PLS) and eflatbed.com announced today that they have begun to jointly provide logistics management services to Ellwood Engineered Castings Co. (EEC), a metal castings producer in Hubbard, OH.

The agreement with EEC marks the first new PLS customer to receive joint service from PLS and eflatbed.com and follows the recent realignment of the two companies under the holding company Quadrivius, Inc. Eventually, all PLS customers will be served by both PLS and eflatbed.com.

“We chose the PLS-eflatbed.com transportation management solution because the combination of PLS’ metals industry logistics expertise and eflatbed.com’s progressive logistics technology provides a suite of logistics services that is unsurpassed in the industry,” said Dr. Donald J. Hurtuk, President of EEC. “EEC will be able to focus on our core competency-producing castings-and feel assured that our shipments will be managed efficiently and cost-effectively by PLS and eflatbed.com.”

EEC’s loads will be moved through eflatbed.com’s online transportation management system, which electronically links ready-to-move flatbed shipments with available carrier capacity, while PLS will provide third-party logistics management services, including the coordination of load pick-up and delivery arrangements and carrier management.

“We are pleased to provide services to such a forward-looking, highly-respected company as EEC, a company that understands the key to logistics success in the future resides in partnering with a provider that is not only technologically-advanced, but one that has deep industry experience as well,” said Gregg A. Troian, CEO of Quadrivius, Pittsburgh Logistics Systems, and eflatbed.com.

EEC is the second company of the Ellwood Group, Inc., a family of seven engineered metals companies, to become a customer of PLS and eflatbed.com. PLS has been serving Ellwood Group’s Ellwood City Forge of Ellwood City, PA, since 1996.

“As we develop value-added logistics solutions for EEC, we will be able to draw upon our more than four years of experience in serving its sister company, Ellwood City Forge,“ Troian added.
